With the goal of practicing elimination communication with my new baby boy, I was struggling daily with pants, domes, socks, diaper covers, and diaper domes. I needed to reduce the number of layers between us without compromising his warmth. Any leg warmers I found in stores were simply too girly for my little man. So I decided to create my own simple pair of neutral leg warmers.You can find the pattern here.

Re:the pattern, you list 2 needle sizes, but don't metion them in the pattern- cast on with wich & when to change? I'm sure you know, but you have a darling little boy! I love that big smile & his little tootsies are too cute!!
Sorry...you start with the smaller needles, then change to the larger needles after the ribbing and then again before the latter ribbing.
Thanks for posting this pattern! I need to make some legwarmers for my 2-year-old niece's halloween costume (she's being a bumblebee and it's too chilly in October to just wear tights). My imaginary pattern was similar, but I'm glad to see it written down and tested, and I'll be following it.
This will be my first try at dpn work, it looks like a good one to try because there's no increase or decrease and it's a small project.

I really want to know how the elimination communication went... Just curious if you went through with it. I am knitting the leg warmer pattern and I read about the elimination communication I can´t find anything about it in later posts.
It would have worked perfectly had I not had to return to work; he was well on his way.
But, that said, I think that even the time that we had made potty training this past summer that much easier. I still highly recommend ec; if nothing else its yet another way to bond with your baby.
